The Power of Music

Music is a wonderful gift with powers to heal and calm us. It helps to release your tension and stress so that you may function at your highest potential.

Instead of waking up to a buzzer, try setting your alarm clock to a station that plays easy listening music. This will start your day more gently for those wishing to keep their stress levels down. If needing more zest while getting ready for work, try playing music that has energy. To carry you through those long, noisy traffic jams, try finding music to sing along with. The resonance of the music and your own voice will mask the noise outside.

To ease your stress during the work day, try listening to music through a Walkman or MP3 during your breaks or lunch. You will feel much more refreshed and relaxed and have increased performance on the job.

Whether subtle or overwhelming, music possesses great powers to affect change. Some music stirs us up, some music slows us down. Other music invites us to dance while some music helps us sleep. Music can also be used to bring a more positive state of mind, helping to reduce depression and anxiety.

Music has also been found to bring many health benefits such as lowering blood pressure, boosting the immune system and easing muscle tension.

With so many benefits to music, it is a huge component to our overall health and wellness.
