Reducing Life Stress

Write concerns, stressful situations on paper. Date the worry/stress-related problem. Place in a container and store. Do what you can about it, then wait if possible. When time has passed check to see if your sleepless night, “gut feeling”, anger or anxiety was warranted.

Keep track of the end results and score yourself on having found your own solutions. Writing is therapeutic in itself. A quote I once read made sense: “From inside your head, you let the thoughts follow your arm down to your fingers, onto paper where you dissolve part of the problem.” If solved, crumble or burn. If not solved, find someone who can be of help. Open up to a partner, trusted friend or even a child and talk it out, according to the type of worry.

Check the date on the sheet of paper as to how long you worried before it got solved. You will be surprised how stress can be avoided with a PLAN!
