Positive Life Change & Personal Growth

To change is to do something different, alter or modify. The act or instance of making or becoming different. It can also be describe as making adjustments, amending, improving, revising, reshaping, reconstructing. Or the best word to desribe it, Growth!

We as humans, are constantly dealing with challenges of complex and rapid change in our lives. We are not meant to stop growing. No living thing on earth is meant to stop growing. We are all alive, reaching for meaning, purpose, experiences.

Progress in life is all about re-invention – leaving the end “open” to allow endless life opportunities. To continue exploring new parts of ourself, and the world around us.

If you are seeking change, within yourself, here are some tips how to go about it:

See Yourself from outside of Yourself – view yourself as a work of art, always in progress. Choose what you like or what you would like to change. Without judgement, start getting to it!

Locate the habit, preventing you from this change – to reinvent aspects of yourself, locate any habits within yourself that can be obstacles to that change. An example, if trying to lose weight, you might be exercising regularly, but your poor diet stays the same. Adjust this bad habit to create better ones ie. eating choices.

Practice Everyday – change is not something we do some days and not the next. Change is a shift in lifestyle. It requires daily dedication, to the point that the new habit takes the place of an old one.

Set Realistic Goals – habits will not be solved overnight. They can take time. Be patient. Keep striving for positive change, daily, to make it a realistic future achievement.

Take time to reflect on your progress – take the time to check in on your progress. Seeing positive, regular change, no matter how large or small, is very uplifting and motivating. Results keep us on target and focused on reaching our goals.

One of the most important points to remember, is that you will never become the person you want to be by continuing to be the person you currently are. You have to take risks. To grow is to step out of your comfort zone. You have to be willing to take that risk, to take that uncomfortable leap into the unknown. Or, you will stay exactly where you are.

To change, is an art. It is a process, of the person whom you wish to be. Each of us carries within us a short (or long) list of things we sincerely don’t believe we are good at or like about ourselves. We might be able to justify that list with past examples of what we believe to be true, even when in actuality it might not be the truth. The idea of change within you arises for a reason. Whether you feel it is needed to better yourself, your life or others around you, it is a great reason to do it. Positive change is always needed and required for growth. And, if at first you don’t succeed, keep trying. If change is so strong within you, you will always find ways to make it happen.

Those who bravely dare, must sometimes risk a fall. Get back up again and keep moving forward. There is nothing wrong with developing resilience and discovering that the sky doesn’t fall upon you if you fall down. Life keeps going on, and if we keep trying, we will continue to improve. Seeking positive change in life is one of the most invigorating, rejuvenating, inspiring things you can do for yourself. Keep on living, learning and believing in “You”.

Change is a doorway to opportunity. It is the continuation of personal growth and acceptance of positive well-being. Through continued perseverence, it can take you places you have always hoped to go. Keep transcending, growing, living your best life.

Embrace life and trust in yourself. Like anything in life, practice, stumble and fall, then get up and keep on practicing. Keep your personal illumination expanding and experiencing everything you are within it. And, as you travel the winding roads ahead, always remember your sense of humor, your sense of perspective, your humanity. You are a seed of what is to come, stretching upward.
