Does your workplace cause you stress? If you find yourself feeling this way on a regular basis, you could have a genuine problem on your hands. We tend to spend the same amount or even more time at work than we do at home with our own families. Thus, we need to enjoy our jobs to not feel anxiety going in on a daily basis. As it is such a huge part of our lives, we need to feel positive towards our workplace and in turn, we become more productive and dedicated.

Firstly, we need to recognize how we view our job and workplace. Do we feel we are respected as employees and in turn respect our employers, do we feel encouraged to progress in positive ways, do we see it as a long-term career and a fulfilling part of our lives? Or, do we feel under-appreciated, negative and see it as a job for the time being until something else more positive comes along?

If you indeed see your job as a stepping stone to something better in the horizons, you will never have the same level of commitment or obtain that higher level of enjoyment as you would if consider it a “career”. The word Career has “care” in it for a reason! You believe in it, are dedicated to it and in turn it delivers amazing benefits to your sense of well-being and self-worth of doing a job well.

Occupational anxiety has been on the increase recently, as work changes can end up being extra complicated, and employees are taking on an increasing number of responsibilities.
