The Power of Affirmations

Today is a brand new day! No matter what your previous days, weeks, months years were like, today is a day for you to begin creating positive change and moving onto a more fulfilling life. And, if you are seeking an enhancement to your current wonderful life to make it even fuller and even more joyful, this will also add to your already found happiness.

We all have the tools within us to change our lives for the better. These tools are your thoughts and beliefs. We all have the power, at any given moment, to improve upon the quality of our life.

What exactly is an affirmation you might ask? Well, it is anything that you say or think. Unfortunately, with everything going on in the world and alot of negativity in the news and information coming at us, it is difficult to always stay upbeat and positive in our daily lives.

So, this is where positive affirmations can “open the door” to your happiness life journey. It is the starting point to welcoming positive change. Affirmations help eliminate thoughts we need to put in our mind’s “trash can” and allow more room to absorb more positive thoughts.

Every word we speak and every thought we think is an ocean of affirmations. We use affirmations every moment of our lives. We are constantly affirming and creating life experiences and alot of these come from our own belief system and learned habits. Some of these beliefs are working great for us while other beliefs might cause limitations.

For, every complaint you might have, is an affirmation of something you believe you don’t want in your life. Every time you are angry, feel victimized, feel over-looked etc. you are affirming those feelings. Thus, if you affirm positive thoughts of what you want to see in your life, those will replace those negative thoughts. By changing the way you think and talk, you are changing how you feel in life.

Our thoughts create our experiences. We all need to begin to consciously create our lives in a way that pleases and supports us, that encourages positive thoughts and opens up our “personal empowerment” doors in our life journey.

With that said, saying affirmations is only part of the process. It is truly what you “do” the rest of the time that makes the difference. Affirmations are like planted seeds; you need to water them, feed them, nurture them. Change does not occur overnight, but with daily positive affirmations flowing from your thoughts, voice and actions you will soon see and feel an incredible shift in your life and others will take notice as well. Take baby steps, towards larger leaps of happiness. Nobody is positive all of the time, but we can all keep striving for it in our lives. Each time you repeat positive statements you are re-affirming the seeds you’ve planted in the atmosphere of your mind. Things grow more quickly in fertile, rich soil.

There will always be challenges we face. Times that we just want to scream or be upset. These are the times when we most need our positive affirmations on hand. They can calm us and control our negative urges. You can write down positive words and have them available when needed, to change your thought process.

Today, this very moment, you can change the way you think. Think thoughts that make you feel good about life, about yourself, about others. The only moment you ever live in is “this” moment. It is the only time you have any control over. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift….which is why it is called “the present”.

Every thought you think, counts. Every negative thought creates a barrier to your positive thoughts. The more you talk about the problems in life, the more you anchor them in your mind. You might even be horrified when you realize how negative you have become in life. This is a good thing. Self-realization is a wonderful part in the affirmation process. The more we need to change, the more focused we become in seeking an improved version of our self.

So go ahead, change the way you think if you want to change the way you perceive your life. You will be truly amazed at how everything around you improves. Watch how people, places, circumstances, situations can positively shift. When we change, everything around us changes along with us.
