High Heels Humor

Walking in high heels should be an Olympic sport. I like to think I don’t wear them often because I am afraid of heights, but in actuality I don’t know how to walk in them. They should have a warning label on them when bought “Warning: these could be dangerous to your health”.

You put high heels on and you change, you get taller. They have been called chocolate for the feet. A women with good shoes is never ugly. They are said to make you smarter too. They say when you wear them you have great vocabulary and speak in paragraphs. They are also said to stretch out your body and make you look twenty pounds thinner.

So, with all these positives, I tried on a pair and felt great. I wiggled my toes and they sprang back like a released arrow. My ankles felt firm and I did feel taller. Then I stood up. I eased my way to the shoe store mirror and my reflection looked like my legs just got off a camel. The clerk asked how I liked them and I was too busy trying to not fall over to answer. In 2 minutes I felt pain in the back of my legs, running up my hips and right down to my toes. Within 5 minutes, my heels were purple and my toes felt like they were being pushed through a ballpoint pen.

I’ve decided life is too short to wear high-heels. The fact is, after a certain age, high heels can feel as painful as someone sticking hot pins into the soles of your feet. I think I will stick with my runners. I’ve heard people can be smart in those too.
